@sim-plicity-dev will this be safe to do on my SW25. I am in south africa cape town so I don't want to damage unit
-
@sim-plicity-dev Also is this ok for the SW13C+ ?
-
Updated my SW25 without problem.
Good to see new funtions.
Is WRC9 supported on this version? -
As we've rolled back the updater mechanism, this no longer has a risk of leaving the wheelbase unusable.
However, you might want to wait a few days for validation from other successful upgrades before you take the plunge. Please bear in mind these releases will have a typical lifespan of 2-3 weeks as the idea is to identify & resolve issues that are only apparent in real-world use.
-
From an update perspective, this is OK for the SW13C+ (will not leave your wheelbase unusable).
The issue with v21.02.05 was not universal and did not affect everyone who attempted to install it. The 3 reported failures was however enough for it to be taken down.
We've resolved the issues identified in this release but still view it as a means to identify issues that might be unique to your wheelbase or installation. This does mean that the next release will follow once new issues (hopefully minor) are identified & resolved.

Thanks for verifying the upgrade went as expected.
WRC9 was not explicitly targeted but worked OK in our testing.
@All, if there is a sim you particularly use that has sub-optimal support, consider being a "Sim Evangelist" for that title so we can target issues you are better placed to identify & advise on.

Since you say that, and in case my thread got overlooked, FFB seems completely broken (non-responding) in Richard Burns Rally with the SW20.

@sim-plicity-dev Until now I used the v19.08.01 version of the web.
I bought WRC9 when I read that it supports DD wheels in an update. With v19.08.01 WRC9 detected the steering wheel, the FFB had centering force, it was difficult for me to recognize any more effect. But I uninstall the game because the steering wheel always pushed a little to the right. Nothing like RRE being misconfigured without the tool. But enough that I can't be precise.
I will install the game again to see how it works with the new firmware.

just had a really scary moment with my wheel base sw15. 2 days i upgraded from 21.02.05 to 06. today i turned on my wheel base and it turned super violent to the right almost breaking my cable from my cube controls wheel and moving my whole pc almost off the table. WTF
-
Apart from the above have there been any problems with this latest firmware? Iβm feeling like no news is good news so may update my SW20v3?
-
@scoops i also have not updated my sw25 so would be nice to know, or we just wait for this to be safe.
-
@scoops I updated my SW20v3 and had no problem.
-
@ace thatβs the job for the weekend then
-
@sim-plicity-dev what is the best procedure to updating firmware on my sw25, coming from 19.08? just following the websites info?
-
@tim_haynes88 I updated my Sw20 v3 from the GitHub link and followed the prompts with the installer. Currently all good for me
-
@Sim-plicity-Dev i updated the firmware on my SW25 and it definitely has updated from 19.08.01 as now I have virtual torque and max speed can go up, which i never had before, However it still says v19.08.01 on the software box?
-
@Sim-plicity-Dev I also cannot click apply for virtual torque.
-
Sounds like you've updated the desktop app but the controller is still on the older version.
Can you confirm that the "Base Package" has previously been installed on this PC and not uninstalled in the interim?
Ensure when running the installer that the controller is powered up and USB cable connected. -
@sim-plicity-dev thank you all is okay now and i am on v21.02.06. I did not install the base driver package first.
