v21.02.05 Discussion Thread
-
Nice to see active development! Is it possible to find release notes anywhere? I'm interested to see what will be the changes per release.
-
Development has been ongoing, reliable deployment to an ever increasing number of configurations has been the friction point.
Release notes are not a feature within Alpha as the idea is to get useable code out as quickly as possible.
We intend to use the discussion threads to iteratively create/update the release notes as we move through the release stages & include the result with the final Beta release.

@sim-plicity-dev So decided to give it an install.
This resulted in the wheel now showing not connected all the time. I tried reverting back to original but now I don't even get a USB connected chirp when plugging the cable in.
Used the wheel this am before trying the update. now it doesn't even power on
-
@wes1987 Same problem here. I have posted it here with a video:
https://forums.sim-pli.city/topic/5/not-connected-and-makes-pulses -
@byagm I think yours is a different problem, I don't even have the wheel moving at all.
-
@wes1987 make a little force on it to test if it "reacts".
¿Have you got the same red light blinking inside? -
@byagm No Red light blinking, and applying a force does nothing (it moves effortlessly). Almost like there is no firmware on the device now.
-
@wes1987 Windows says "unknown device" when you connect usb? (or something like that, I have it in spanish..)
-
@byagm Nope, doesn't do anything at all

Mine is working so far, I will report if there are any issues.
-
@mr_dino Do you have a red light blinking inside your base in any moment?
(mine its continously blinking. You can see it here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8tiU27yOTTs )
-
can you post screenshots of your "Control Panel>Device Manager" & "Control Panel>Devices & Printers" with the unit powered up and USB cable plugged in?
-
Can you disconnect all cables except AC power & USB from the control unit, power up and post screenshots of your "Control Panel>Device Manager" & "Control Panel>Devices & Printers"
-
@byagm No blinking everything is working as normal.
-
I have just been testing the new update and it feels good, virtual torque has made a good improvement in Iracing.
-
And
I don't even get the beep to tell me a new USB device is connected.
The only thing that changed from this morning to now is the installation of the new firmware
-
Can you disconnect all cables apart from AC and USB and check that the internal fan spins up on power on?
-
@sim-plicity-dev I can confirm that the Fan is spinning up when the USB and AC are only connected

The Control unit has 2 operational modes ( Wheel Firmware & Bootloader) both of which present a USB Interface to the PC.
A failed firmware update would leave the unit in Bootloader mode which is currently not visible on your PC.Can you swap USB cables & ports to confirm that both are working as expected independently of the Control unit?
