      Folks,
I have recently realised that the latest firmware allows me to have Virtual Torque/Force to be greater than my actual wheel.
For once🙄 I read, and understood, the description. Which says that lower forces will be transferred to the wheel as though you had the more powerful wheel. So…with my 20Nm wheel I can get bumps and tyre feels as though I had a 30Nm wheel. I’m assuming that it’s only huge forces that I will miss out on.
      Am I right?
      Where’s the downside?

In addition, I have noticed that if you set your Virtual Force as 25 you tell iRacing that you have a 25Nm wheel.

All correct. The higher forces are compressed into a smaller range of the response curve so you are not actually missing them, they are just less present in the mix.

          The downsides are
The motor is worked harder which is only a problem with Gen 1 Compact wheelbases ( active cooling is recommended for these).
The response is no longer as the developers intended. But if it puts a bigger smile on your face, mitigates the behaviour of a wayward car or makes you faster/more consistent, that's a small price to pay in my opinion

Yes, this allows the Wheel Force feature in iRacing to function as intended.
