      Hi all,

I'm having issues whereby the SW20 controller will only work/ connect when using the USB 2.0 ports on my case, and not the usb 2.0 ports coming directly off the motherboard (Shows up as not recognised/ Unknown USB Device [Port Reset Failed] in device manager). It's been like this since I've had it (now multiple years), but I'm now looking to move to a different case which will no longer have a USB 2.0 port on it (only USB3) so I'd really like to get to the bottom of why it wont work with the MB usb ports.

The motherboard is nearly new (Aorus X670 w/ Ryzen 7700x), but I had the exact same behaviours using a MSI X470 w/ Ryzen 2700x.

      Using mb ports:

      Using Case usb port:

Still using the supplied cable that came with the kit.

Any help from the Devs would be greatly appreciated.

      Cheers,

      Dan

I've brought a new shielded cable to test just to rule that out, will try that later this evening.

Once you've replaced the USB cable, can you change the View in Device Manager from "Devices by type" to "Devices by connection" and repeat your tests.

This will provide more insight into what port cannot be reset and which Host controller it is attached to.

New cable (Ugreen 2m shielded USB2 A to B, for reference) seems to have done the trick, will leave it on for a while to see if there's any drops but so far so good.

Will report back if any issues occur.

            Cheers,
